A child born to a human is a human being first before being wrapped or tied into the cultural fabric of his family and society.
In fact long before certain institutions, doctrines and practices came into play, it is the core human values of compassion, fairness, curiosity, awe, mutual respect and Love.
In fact all the religious and holy scriptures across the world speak about the same basic human values and ethics.
The code of conduct of a human being is a yardstick to measure his/her gravity of humaneness within.
If so, then why are the religions today taken to extremism? Why is there such unpleasant stigma associated with certain religious practices today? And why is this effecting even the governance of most nations today?
The answer is actually hidden within in our surroundings. Due to the state of our unprecedented society, and us humans taking to extremes in general with our lives, thus losing our ability to remain humble or grounded. This confusing and elusive human state eventually gave birth to small rebellious groups who self undertook the authority to revolt, rebel and manipulate the lost masses, thus taking advantage of their ‘fear’.
In reality, most people in this world, regardless of their religious affinity, are moderate and secular in their nature.
But due to the hype and overwhelming influence of media, technology and disinformation, the extremists, unfortunately are becoming more visible.
This is perhaps the real root cause of unpleasant anxiety and distress that spreads like wildfire wherein even the most sensible people get the burns.
So, what is your anchor in this noisy world?
Simple. Live the kind of life that which reflects the true innate human religion: helping strangers in crisis, trying small acts of forgiveness, by sharing a sense of communal belonging without labels.
Let us make an effort to speak openly, communicate sincerely and ask questions, if needed.
Most importantly, let us not allow the louder noise from outside affect our innately born humane competence and integrity.
Perhaps, the ‘innate religion of humanity’ isn’t being erased but rather being challenged.
Let us be wise, begin with neutralising our own individual fear before it is weaponised. exposed and punished, so to bring justice to those who lost their lives in the crossfire.
